Serious Shortage of Good Looking Men in India

14 Sep caio-cesar-0406

Indian guys everywhere, in colleges, schools, offices are often seen complaining that there are no hot girls around. But I think they should all take a deep breath, head to a mirror and look at themselves. Indian women today are much better dressed and groomed than men of the same age group.  It is the women who should be complaining.

The women shop at branded shops, go to parlors, take care of their skin and hair only to date a guy who doesn’t even care to get a decent haircut.

I am not generalizing. There are some cute guys around who know how to dress and have a bath regularly, but there’s a serious shortage that us women are facing.

The women starve and sweat to get a perfect body or body like Sheila or whatever you would like to call it while the men proudly sport a beer belly. Having your tummy bulging out of your pants, guys, is not cool and if you’re one of the millions who do suffer from this then go join a gym or go for a jog rather than making excuses.

Another thing, fake diesel, reebok, adidas bags and shoes will not impress women. It will most often shoo them away. If you can’t afford a branded bag then buy a cheaper one . We are not blind, we can make out the difference.

These days I see many guys walking around in college wearing slippers. Please keep your slippers where they belong, that is, your bathroom. You might have bought them from Puma but it’s better if you wear them while you are out on a stroll with your dog rather than wearing it on a date with your girlfriend.

And did I forget to mention that wearing tight tee shirts won’t magically make you look muscular.

The Indian men have potential and some have learnt to exploit it but the majority of them have not. I don’t expect much from men from our generation who have grown up watching ugly fat heroes romancing gorgeous heroines. But I hope our country’s future is not so awful as it is now.

Some cute guys for the ladies:

Vasuki Sunkavalli: Worst Miss India Universe?

12 Sep

Vasuki Sunkavalli (Age 27) is an Indian lawyer who is currently representing India at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant.
On July 15, 2011, Vasuki was crowned the I Am She – Miss Universe India 2011 in Mumbai.

vasuki brazil

Usually I am not this hateful, but she looks bad in each and every picture of hers. She might be intelligent, confident etc. but in the end don’t forget its a ‘beauty’ contest. And I don’t find her beautiful by any angle.

I am not calling her ugly because she is dark. There have been many dark beauties from India like Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Freida Pinto etc. So its not about skin color. Her face is too manly looking to be called beautiful.

Doctors’ strike in Maharashtra after relatives beat up doctor: Who is at fault?

12 Sep

Sadia Siddique, a 10-month-old baby girl, was brought to Sion Hospital on Sunday for treatment of lower respiratory tract infection. According to the doctors, she had to be shifted to the pediatric intensive care unit as her condition deteriorated suddenly.

What my sources say (name disclosed) , “The girl had a lower respiratory tract infection and the doctor was told to take a pleural tap (to collect fluid around lungs) but  he pierced the needle in the wrong direction and entered the pericardium around heart.  He was a doctor from a private medical college and wasn’t very experienced in performing the technique.”

Vishnu Dhadwad, who was treating the patient, was locked in a room and beaten up by the relatives. Dr. Vishnu, who is physically challenged, sustained bruises and a fractured right hand.

The doctors at Sion Hospital who tried to intervene were also beaten up.

Doctors also complained of repeated lapse in security provided to doctors outside each ward in these hospitals.

This is the ninth such incident this year, Dr.Nalawade said, while reiterating MARD’s demand for better CCTV surveillance and security in hospitals. “We keep voicing our concerns but they fall on deaf ears.”

So whose fault is it?

The trigger was the doctor’s carelessness but the reaction was unlawful and uncivilized. But how is an uneducated poor man supposed to react when he hears that his daughter who was recovering has suddenly passed away?

Anyway, one hears more and more of such stories on the news of thieves, corrupt politicians beaten up by mobs. It seems like the only way to punish a person for the mob as they don’t really trust the legal system.

In a more developed country the relatives would sue the doctor but in India with a poor law system it’s impossible to find justice in such cases. Forget justice, loss of a child is devastating and unbearable for any person irrespective of his nationality.

Instead of tightening security, Doctor’s should try to provide better services to patients. Dr.Nalawade mentioned 9 instances where doctors were beaten up but what about the hundreds of lives that are lost due to their negligence and ill treatment by doctors?

If you have ever been to a Government Hospital in India, you would actually see where the problem lies. It’s not the doctor or the patient but the poor system that is at fault. A single doctor is expected to attend hundreds of patients everyday. It leads to frustration for both the doctor and the patient.

Such strikes will only cause more inconvenience for the poor and helpless man in India.

Best places to eat in pune for couples on a budget

11 Sep

I have been living in Pune for more than 3 years now and one thing I really like about Pune is that there are restaurants and malls at every corner of the road and many of them are budget friendly!

But with so many restaurants around, it can be confusing where to go especially for a couple.

Every couple looks for a restaurant where they can have a quiet dinner at a place which isn’t too crowded or noisy. Also, it should be a place where they can chat and sit for sometime without the waiter waiting for them to leave! Such places are difficult to find in Pune where every place is filled with noisy youngsters. Finding a good restaurant on a Sunday night is almost impossible with all the popular restaurants having waiting lists for hours.

Here’s my list of my favorite restaurants:

Bashos, Koregaon Park

It is a resto-bar with a mission to enchance your experience in Drinks, Mughlai and Hookah. It has good seating and a quiet and dark ambiance at an affordable price. Because of it’s rather remote location it’s not very famous. But once you get there it is worth it.

96 K Maratha, FC road

This is a small restaurant that serves great maharashtrian food. It’s new so not many people know about it.

Kuku Da Paratha, DP road

I never really understood why this place never got famous. It serves mouth watering parathas at affordable prices of Rs.50-80.

Swami’s, Zilla Parishad

Head to the AC/ top floor. This place is located at a not-so-cool location so it’s not very popular with youngsters. It’s pretty neat and peaceful. The food is tasty and the price is reasanable.

Badshah, E Street

This place is opposite Victory theater so it’s a pretty convenient place to grab a snack after watching a movie. It has a cute ambiance and perfect for a breezy evening.

Bavdhan Chaupati, Chandni Chowk

It’s a place that overlooks Chandni Chowk and can be pretty romantic late at night. It’s open till 1am so it’s a great place for those late night dinners.

Tip:  Never ever think of having dinner at a food court of a mall. It might sound convenient but the places are very overpriced and you would find people staring at you and waiting for you to get up.

Is Redgage the site for Indians looking to earn online?

11 Sep

There’s a bunch of the Indian population who are looking to turn their free time into money. They realize that many of the popular earn cash online sites pay you in dollars so you end up earning in thousands.

But the job of finding such a website is not easy. There are many scams out there. Sites that pay you in pennies, such sites will only cause frustration and very few will have the patience to reach their minimum credit limit.

This week I have been trying out a few websites.
One of them is RedGage.com.
Its pretty neat and simple but earning money is a difficult task.

Basically you have to submit your own content to this website and you get money depending on the number of views your page gets. You can submit photos, blogs, links and videos. Sounds simple but it is pretty complex!

You earn very little per submission around o.o1$ approx. I have around 50 uploads and have earned 0.3$ till now.

But I am around 1 week old at this place so I can’t really figure out how to get faster cash.

One way is to get your content featured but God knows whats the criteria for that!

Another is the daily raffle contest but the rules baffle me.

So I am still on my way to figuring out this website.

How much will you earn?

You can get their visa card worth 25$, but getting there isn’t easy.

Indians and their obsession with looking “white”

25 Jul hot_katrin_kalki

Fairness creams, hair coloring products, face bleaching kits you’ll find all of these in abundance in the Indian super market. People in India are easily influenced by the media and with the media promoting more and more “white-looking” actresses and it’s no surprise that girls are trying their best to brighten their skin tones.

The condition was not so bad a decade ago when Kajol, Shilpa Shetty, Raveena, Shri Devi and Madhuri were considered beautiful but as India got westernized so did their thinking. Indian men started to prefer “white”  looking women. And so there was the sudden rise of Aishwarya Rai who had fair skin and blue eyes. A rarity in India.

But things haven’t stopped here. Atleast Aishwarya Rai was Indian but the new breed of actresses are not even that! Katrina Kaif is a British citizen who works in India on an employement visa! Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan. Kalki Koechlin is of french descent. Giselli Monteiro is a Brazilian model. Uff!

In a population of 1 billion don’t we have enough women who can act?

I have friends who are aspiring actresses. They are talented and beautiful but they will never make it. Because the standard of beauty put forth by the Indian film industry (Bollywood) is genetically impossible.

Indian girls typically look like this (the majority of them, not the ones who are rich and spoilt in Mumbai):

But want to look like this:

Katrina and Kalki

Giselle

Is it possible? No  Is it crazy? Yes

Whats the future of Indian cinema? God knows!

I just hope it involves some real Indian women.

South Indian Food Battle: Idli vs Masala Dosa vs Medu Vada

12 Jul

We have all faced this dilemma when entering a college canteen or a restaurant for breakfast.

Today I am going to analyze the three  to know who’s the best.

Calorie counter

2 Idlis contain 160 calories

1 Masala Dosa contains 280 calories

(Plain Dosa 150 calories)

2 Medu Vadas contain 260 calories

So if you are on a diet go for Idli without doubt!

Which is more nutritious?

None of them is high in vitamins or other minerals but idlis and dosas are good source of protein. Medu vada as it is deep fried is not very healthy and is high in cholesterol.

Tastiest?

Idlis can be pretty boring if you have them regularly. Masala dosas are preferred by some. I personally find Medu vada tastiest. I have a thing for fried food!

Hungry Kya?

If you are a person with a large appetite then a plate of idli wouldn’t satisfy your hunger. Masala Dosa is a very filling dish and it is also pocket friendly.

Conclusion

All three dishes are great in their own way, but personally I find the humble looking idli the best. Is it the healthiest option for a weight conscious person like me.

If you’re still confused then it’s best to order Idli Vada and have a bit of both!

South Indian Movies = Ugly guy meets beautiful girl

11 Apr

ugly guyI don’t get it. How do people buy this shit? It’s not about the guys being dark, I don’t mind dark guys! They’re just so… ugly! They lack any attractive features. They’re not well kept. They can wear any damn thing and get away with it. And they’re REALLY unfit! I mean how difficult is it to get a haircut and join a gym?

I wouldn’t have bothered if the girls they get were of their standard. But most of the girls these days in such movies are models, some even international beauty pageant winners.

I guess the logic behind the pairing is that many of the movie goers are no-so-attractive and unfit males. May be they feel great after watching these movies. They start believing that they can get hot girls by dancing around in college.

Well I’m not saying that ugly men can’t get beautiful girls, I’m just saying that it would have been more believable if they would have been paired with more average looking women rather than 5’8″ fair and blue eyed models.

I also think it’s pretty sexist. Men are supposed to chase the hottest girl in their college/office/village, but the women have to be satisfied with the dude who aggressively approaches her, singing and dancing and not leaving her alone till she says yes. It doesn’t matter if he dresses like a clown or if he hasn’t had a haircut since high school.

aishwarya rai rajnikantI seriously don’t get how people can imagine Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikant as a couple. He might be an amazing actor but common get real!

I think people need to realize the international standards for actors. Being able to act isn’t enough. It’s all about looking good.

The sooner this industry realized this, better.

German bakery bomb blast has shocked Pune

14 Feb

german bakery kpBeing a student in Pune I know very well what German bakery meant to Pune. It was a hot spot for tourists especially those who come for the osho ashram. It was also a very cool hang out spot for college students. I’ve been there a couple of times and the atmosphere there is unlike any other place in pune, the majority of the customers are foreigners, very good looking ones. The working staff is also not Indian so  one has to speak in English.

My friends loved the food there, I couldn’t eat much as I am a vegetarian. But I still loved the place for its ambiance and crowd.

The blast that occurred yesterday at IST 7 pm or so was just shocking for the Puneites. At first I didn’t believe it. When a friend told me that it was bomb blast I laughed at him explaining to him that it was just a cylinder blast and that no one was seriously hurt. But then as we saw the news we realized what had happened. 8 people had died on the spot and there are many in the ICU. It’s a shocking incident as Pune is usually considered to be a safe and quiet place, it’s a very popular place for tourists. But this incident has drastically changed the image of Pune for tourists. It’s valentine’s day today but students instead of enjoying at their favorite hang out places, are sitting at home, watching the news.

‘Kuku Da Paratha’ Delicious yet affordable Indian food

13 Feb

kuku parathaI had first gone there for my friend’s birthday party and I fell in love with the place. I was never a fan of parathas but Kuku’s changed that for me. It’s not a lavish restaurant, it’s a simple food joint on DP road Pune.

So what is so special about Kuku’s? It’s the parathas! They’re thick, tasty and nutritious. They have a variety of parathas available. My first paratha was Aloo Cheese Mix which tasted a lot like cheese pizza. But the best of the lot is kuku special paratha which has almost everthing in it from chole to corns, from methi to cheese.

The parathas are served with dahi (curd) and green chutney. They taste best with dahi in my opinion. Ever since my childhood I have had parathas with ketchup, but having them with dahi was a great experience.

The parathas are priced at Rs.50 to Rs.65. That’s not very pricey considering that one paratha is equivalent to one large meal.

If you’re not into paratha’s you can try the thali at Rs.50 or Chole Bhature or the Palak Paneer combo. Also try the large lassi.

If you ever visit Pune don’t forget to visit Kuku’s.
