Indian Social Bookmarking Sites

14 Sep

indian bookmarking sitesHere’s a list of the popular Indian Social Bookmarking Sites:

(Updated September, 2011)

Humsurfer

Hotklix

Tweetr

Rambhai

OneIndia

I tried most of these sites and observed that how many of these actually work to your benefit and get you hits.

Best of the lot: Humsurfer

Works very well, registration is simple and quick, no hassles. A story I published got 8 stamps in 24 hours and gave me about 100 hits.

Problem with Indian bookmarking sites is that many of them (Newzly, NewsCola, IndianPad, ApnaStory, IndianBytes) close down after some time and are not reliable. Many new websites are entering the market and we hope that they are here to stay.

Cheap Tricks To Get 1000+ Views On Your Blog

26 May

These are some desperate measures for those poor souls who just don’t seem to get enough views on their blogs.

So here are the tricks (which worked for me on my other blogs):

  • Post breaking news. People most often look up news or current events so even before the news story spreads just blog it. For grabbing the latest stories keep an eye on popular news websites like BBC or CNN. Give nice eye ball grabbing titles to your posts and clicks from search engines are assured.
  • Write on celebrities. A single post on Kim Kardashian or Aishwarya Rai can get you thousands of views everyday. Add a few hot pictures with appropriate tags and your post is sure to get plenty of attention.
  • Be controversial. Be so controversial that people are forced to comment, doesn’t matter if its a hate comment. When you’re desperate it doesn’t matter what the comment says as long as it is a real comment. If the controversial post is on a political or religious topic then be ready to have a debate with random people.
  • Post sexy pictures. This is definitely a common trick. Post pictures of bikini models or shirtless hunks and get plenty of traffic. It may not really be due to your blogging skills but its traffic nevertheless.
  • Post pictures of yourself, if you’re worth looking at. People love pretty people and there are plenty of people who’d take you more seriously if they know what you look like.
  • Go crazy promoting yourself. Yes, that means bragging about your blog on forums, social network sites and other websites. Join Digg, Flickr, MyBlogLog and every other site that people tell you to join to get some quick hits. This method includes talking to strangers, making random friends and shameless posting of your blog links everywhere you go.
  • Use Google Trends to your advantage. Its a simple website, it tells you what people are looking for on that day. By posting on these hot trends you’d definitely get plenty of hits.

But there are some key basic things you should follow if you want your blog to work, like:

  1. Your blog must be listed in search engines.
  2. You should know how to tag your posts.
  3. You should never post naked pictures, it gets you great traffic but your blog will be tagged mature and many bad things will follow.

Why You Need A Blog

26 May

Okay these are some of the reasons why you need to get yourself a blog (for beginners):

  • speak out. no need to bottle up your emotions and opinions.
  • be heard. there are millions of people out there, if your blog is good enough it will soon become popular and you will have a regular audience.
  • it’s productive. its definitely better than just wasting your time watching TV or just surfing the web. It makes you a part of the web and you definitely increase your knowledge and writing skills by blogging.
  • it’s fun. blogging about something you love to do can be great fun and it can also be interactive with people commenting and appreciating your posts.
  • get famous. this one is a toughie but regular and good blogging will definitely take your blog to a higher level. it may not make you paris-hilton-famous but you’d definitely get yourself some regular readers and once your blog starts coming up in search engines for popular terms be ready to get some huge traffic. I’ve seen fellow bloggers getting famous as excerpts from their blogs are published in newspapers or magazines. So you can definitely expect some rewards by long term blogging.

So don’t just read other’s blogs but start your own. Its hard work and takes a lot of patience but you’d soon catch up, I’m sure.
